Privacy Policy
Effective October 2, 2026
This explains what Michael Gnankou collects through Pinswap, how we use it, and your choices.
What we collect
- Submissions: harness designs, pin edits, corrections, measurements, photos, comments (see Terms "Your submissions").
- Account data: email address, username, sign-in records.
- Technical data: IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, timestamps and error logs, collected automatically by our self-hosted servers and by Cloudflare, which sits in front of the Site.
- Analytics: Cloudflare Web Analytics, to understand how the Site is used.
- Donations: if you donate (via the PayPal link or QR code), PayPal processes the payment and tells us your name, email address, amount and any note you add. We use this only to keep records and thank you. Card or bank details go to PayPal, not to us.
How we use it
- to run, secure and fix the Site;
- to correct and expand the wiring database, including showing reviewed corrections to other users;
- to train, evaluate and improve machine-learning and AI models operated by or for Michael Gnankou, using Submissions and usage data;
- to respond to you, and to comply with law.
We do not sell your personal information for money, and we do not use your personal information for targeted advertising. PayPal handles donation payments under its own privacy policy.
AI services
Parts of the Site may send content to third-party AI services (for example, to read a document or suggest data). Those providers process it under their own terms.
Sharing
We share data only:
- with service providers that run the Site for us (hosting, analytics, email, AI services, PayPal for donations), under their terms;
- publicly, for Submissions shown on the Site;
- when required by law or to protect rights and safety;
- with a successor if the Site is sold or transferred.
Retention
- Submissions and model-training datasets: kept as long as the Site operates, or until you ask us to delete your Submissions (see "Your choices and rights"). Data already used to train a model may not be removable from that model.
- Server logs: about 90 days.
Cookies
- Essential: sign-in, preferences (e.g. remembering whether a panel is collapsed, and whether you've seen the first-visit notice).
- Analytics: Cloudflare Web Analytics uses a cookie-less beacon; see Cloudflare's documentation for details.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser. Essential features may stop working.
Your choices and rights
- Access, correction, deletion: contact us. We'll respond within 30 days (45 where state law allows).
- Opt out of model training: email us to exclude your future Submissions from model training.
- Your state's rights: depending on where you live (e.g. California, Colorado, Virginia, the EU or UK), you may have extra rights: to know, delete, correct, port your data, object to or restrict processing, and complain to a regulator. We honour these where they apply.
- EU/UK legal bases: consent (Submissions and model training), legitimate interests (security, improving the Site), legal obligation.
Security
We use reasonable measures, but no system is completely secure. Don't submit sensitive information.
Children
The Site isn't for children under 13 (under 16 in the EU/UK). We don't knowingly collect their data; if we learn we have, we delete it.
International users
The Site is run from the United States, and data is processed there.
Changes
We'll post updates here and change the effective date.
