Terms of Use
Effective October 2, 2026
These Terms govern your use of Pinswap (the "Site"), operated by Michael Gnankou ("we", "us"). By using the Site you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the Site.
The service
The Site is provided free of charge. We may add, change, limit or remove features at any time, and may suspend or end the Site without notice.
Off-road and competition use only
The Site and everything it produces are for off-road and competition vehicles only. You agree not to use any information from the Site to modify a vehicle for use on public roads. You're responsible for complying with all laws that apply to your vehicle and where you use it.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to submit content or create an account. The Site is not directed to children.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- submit content you don't have the right to share, including copyrighted manuals, service documentation or other people's photos, unless you have permission or the law allows it;
- submit personal, confidential or proprietary information about yourself or others;
- submit false data on purpose, spam, or malicious code;
- scrape, overload or attempt to break the Site, or bypass access controls;
- use the Site for anything unlawful.
Your submissions
"Submissions" means anything you enter or upload: harness designs, pin edits and corrections, measurements, connector photos, comments and messages.
- You keep ownership of your Submissions.
- License to us: you grant Michael Gnankou a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, sublicensable licence to use, store, copy, modify, publish, display and create derivative works from your Submissions, in order to operate and improve the Site; correct and expand the wiring database; and train, evaluate and improve machine-learning and AI models operated by or for Michael Gnankou.
- Public display: reviewed corrections and shared harnesses may be visible to other users. We may credit you by username, or show them without attribution.
- Your promises: you have the rights needed to grant this licence, and your Submissions don't infringe anyone's rights or break any law.
- Moderation: we may review, edit, decline or remove any Submission for any reason.
- No payment: you won't be paid for Submissions.
Our content and third-party material
- The Site's software, design and original compilation of data are owned by Michael Gnankou or its licensors. You may use the Site and export your own harnesses for personal, non-commercial use and for your own vehicle builds.
- Facts such as pin functions are cited to third-party sources. Those sources belong to their owners; links to them do not mean we have permission to redistribute their documents, and we do not host copies of manufacturer manuals.
- All product names, logos and brands (including Subaru, Honda, Emtron, Link, MoTeC and AEM) are the property of their owners. Their use here is for identification only and does not imply endorsement or affiliation.
Donations
You can support the Site with a voluntary contribution through PayPal ("Buy me a coffee").
- Gifts: contributions are voluntary gifts to Michael Gnankou. They don't buy goods, services, features, priority support or influence over the data.
- Not tax-deductible: Michael Gnankou is not a charity.
- Non-refundable except where the law or PayPal's buyer-protection rules require otherwise.
- PayPal's terms: payments are processed by PayPal under its terms. We never see your card or bank details.
Assumption of risk and release
Working on vehicle wiring and engine management is inherently risky. You understand and accept the risks: damage to engines, ECUs, vehicles and property, fire, and serious injury or death. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you voluntarily assume all of these risks, and you release Michael Gnankou from any claims arising from your use of the Site or its information, including claims based on negligence. This release does not apply to anything that the law does not allow to be released, such as gross negligence or wilful misconduct where those cannot be waived.
No warranty
THE SITE AND ALL DATA ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SITE WILL BE ERROR-FREE, UNINTERRUPTED OR SECURE.
Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, Michael Gnankou WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY DAMAGE TO VEHICLES, ENGINES, ELECTRONICS OR PROPERTY, LOST DATA, OR PERSONAL INJURY ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SITE OR RELIANCE ON ITS DATA. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM IS LIMITED TO US $50. Some jurisdictions don't allow these limits, so some may not apply to you.
Indemnity
You agree to defend and indemnify Michael Gnankou against claims, damages and costs, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your Submissions, your misuse of the Site, or your breach of these Terms.
Copyright complaints
If you believe content on the Site infringes your copyright, contact us with:
- the work;
- where it appears on the Site;
- your contact details;
- a statement that you believe in good faith the use is unauthorised;
- a statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act for them;
- your signature.
We'll remove infringing material promptly and may terminate repeat infringers.
Changes and termination
We may update these Terms; the effective date above will change. Continued use after a change means you accept it. We may suspend or end your access at any time.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Iowa, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Polk County, Iowa, unless the law where you live requires otherwise.
