About Pinswap

A free reference for automotive ECU wiring

Pinswap is a free, non-commercial reference for automotive ECU wiring: pinouts and harness designs for swapping a car's factory engine computer to an aftermarket ECU (Emtron, MoTeC, Haltech, Link and others). It's aimed at race and off-road builds — cars that live on a track or a trail, not public roads.

How it works

Pinswap works like a Wikipedia for wiring, built up one community-verified build at a time. Each pin and connector is cited to a source document, and every harness runs through a set of wiring checks before it appears. Users can submit corrections, build reports and photos; they are reviewed before they are shown, and conflicting sources are displayed as conflicts rather than resolved by guesswork.

Who runs it

Pinswap is run by Michael, as an individual hobby project. It is non-commercial: there are no ads, and the site is free to use. It is not affiliated with any vehicle or ECU manufacturer named on the site.

How data is sourced and cited

Wiring facts come from manufacturer manuals, published service documents, forum posts and community measurements, each recorded with a source and a reliability rating. Every pin carries that provenance, and the sources page lists the documents the site relies on.

Copyright / DMCA

Pinswap does not host copies of manufacturer manuals; it cites and links to them. If you believe content on the site infringes your copyright, please contact us with the work, where it appears, and your contact details, and we will remove it promptly.
